Tailored and personalized approach

Singing was a hobby I really enjoyed when I was younger and wanted to continue it as a pass time including working on my technique and trying out challenging songs that would allow me to improve. I wanted to do solo lessons as I prefer to get one-to-one feedback on my singing. It worked really well as I was able to get more tailored and personalized approach to teaching.

I’ve noticed changes in better breathing technique, leading to a more powerful voice and more ease whilst singing. My voice has become stronger and more crisper, making it easier to attain higher notes in a comfortable way. The difference has been focusing on parts of a song/ melody that I struggled with to better attain certain notes, as well as visualizing the different parts of the mouth/ face where the sound should sit or resonate. I was surprised how much of a difference posture (relaxed shoulders, standing up straight) and breathing can make to achieving a better, stronger sound when singing.

Louise is a great teacher. Really clear in her explanations with great English, which helped to understand where I was going wrong and exactly what I should be doing. Very kind, funny and relaxed, making me feel comfortable to challenge myself and creating a great atmosphere, which makes the class even more enjoyable. I’ve seen noticeable changes and improvements in my singing technique. She understands your needs and your type of voice, so she tailors her approach, song choice and feedback to your individual needs. Louise is very knowledgable and also genuinely caring, which is noticeable in her teaching method. 🙂

Always fun, always educational, always pushes me gently

I’m just a really happy student! I never know what’s going to happen in class (which I guess is appropriate for jazz) 🙂 but it’s always fun, always educational, and it always pushes me gently into new territory.

Jeg vil gerne synge. Godt. Men det gør jeg ikke endnu. Så jeg har brug for en sangcoach. And I feel freer to make mistakes if there’s only one other person present! I am not a religious man, and so I need to find meaning somewhere. The arts give that to me.

I use my diaphragm differently now, and I think it has improved my sound. I’ve learned that warming up isn’t quite the rigorous exercise I thought it was. I’ve learned how to place my voice all on my own.
Also, my previous sangcoaches weren’t jazz-oriented, and so I love being able to go deeper into the specifics of the genre. Louise speaks jazz.

I would recommend her to anybody wanting to improve their singing, especially for jazz, pop, folk etc styles. Super happy so far! Sangtid gør mig altid glad, og jeg lærer meget.
